- Tuesday, March 25, 2014 - 2:45pmFirefighters from Pleasant, Glade and Starbrick volunteer fire departments, and the City of Warren responded to a mid-afternoon fire at the Christmas Tree House on Mohawk Avenue to discover the structure was fully involved. Emergycare, Warren-based state police and Penelec also were at the scene. Cpl. Mark Cumberland of the state police said he spotted the smoke from the state police barracks in Starbrick, and smoke was also visible from downtown Warren. Mark Hedstrand Jr., a volunteer with Pleasant VFD, said he was on his way to work when he saw the fire and called 911. Because of a lack of water at the scene, tankers were refilling from a hydrant near the Family Medicine building and Country Fair on Pleasant Drive. The original call came in around 2:40 p.m., and all units were back in service at 5 p.m.
